We have finally finished the baby's room, yay!
Just in time too since he is due to arrive in just three more weeks.
His bedroom took some time, work, and creativity since we tried to do everything on a budget.
So...here it is!
Yes, it mostly all fits in one picture because the room is so small.
The rocking chair came from a nice old man at a parking lot sale.
A little strange, but I really liked it and it was only $30.
My mom and I did a little distressing and staining and it was good to go!
The night stand was an old cabinet that Taylor and I found for $5.
Taylor sanded it, I painted it, then Taylor put some new hinges on it for $3.
The best part is that it has shelves inside for storage.
The lamp was one I bought before me and Taylor were married.
Pretty sure I got it for like $6.
I used some extra paint and added some blue polka dots to match the room.
The Curious George pictures were copies I made from an old book I had from when I was a kid and cost less than $2.
All the frames were only $11.
Taylor has awesome picture hanging skills and hung them exactly as I imagined.
The dinosaur mobile was one of the first things Taylor and I made.
We painted all the wood and then Taylor put everything together.
He was such a trooper.
He stayed up till 1:00 am finishing it with me.
The crates under the crib were my mom's that she didn't want anymore.
So they were $Free and perfect for holding books and toys.
I spray painted them green and blue to match the room which cost about $10.
The rug was a NIGHTMARE.
I would never suggest it as a project to anyone.
I found the idea on another blog and the lady said it took her a total of 5 hours.
Either she has no sense of time or she is super-human.
It probably took me 30+ hours to cut all the fabric into strips and weave the pieces into the rug backing.
Definitely won't be making another one um....ever.
The crib was actually mine from when I was a baby.
So that made it $Free.
And isn't it precious that the baby will have the same crib I did?

The dresser was an old dresser I had as a kid except it is much cuter now.
My mom repainted it and added some new knobs.
Since she footed the cost I'm going to say it was $Free.
Thanks mom.
I made the framed sign above the bed.
It took me maybe an hour to create on my computer.
I took it to FedEx and had it printed for $3.
Found a frame at DI for $1 which I painted and distressed.
Then Taylor hung it up.

Besides the room, we have also been getting baby gear ready.
I never thought I would be so interested in car seats until we started shopping for one.
Once I saw this car seat I had to have it and I couldn't stop talking about it.
I'm sure it was obnoxious but I was in love.
So we finally bought it.
It has a stroller that matches.
And I love it which probably makes me a nerd.
My other favorite thing is the baby swing.
I practically lived in one as a baby since it was the only way my parents could get me to quit crying.
So I knew I had to have one for our baby.
However, swings are expensive.
Luckily, Taylor and I found this one at a consignment sale for $7.50.
The seat was UGLY but I have learned a thing or two from my mom and knew I could make it cuter.
We bought some fabric, bias tape, and padding for most likely around $20.
I did a little sewing.
My mom did a lot of sewing, and now the swing is much cuter.

That pretty much wraps up everything.
Now all we need is a baby!
